Saints Around the World is a beautifully illustrated and deeply inspiring collection that brings to life the stories of over 100 Saints from more than 60 countries. Perfectly suited for Kolbe Academy’s Reading 1 course, this book invites young readers to discover the universal call to holiness through Saints of all ages, cultures, abilities, and life circumstances.
Each engaging story reveals how God’s love shines through in every moment—whether in fear, failure, courage, or joy. From Saints who stood against tyranny to those who made scientific breakthroughs or overcame great personal struggles, every narrative speaks to the same truth: sainthood is not out of reach—it is possible for everyone.
Written to capture the hearts and imaginations of children, this book helps students see the Saints not as distant or flawless, but as real people who loved God and lived with purpose. With a global map and thoughtfully organized indices, children can explore Saints who share their interests, experiences, or backgrounds—deepening their connection to the faith and inspiring a lifelong love of Jesus.
About Kolbe Academy’s Reading 1 Course
This course features level-appropriate readings that gradually expand vocabulary, while building phonics skills and reading comprehension. Teachers are encouraged to read aloud—especially from Catholic National Readers: New Primer and Book One—as students practice both vocal and silent reading.
Students also engage with classic literature, retell stories in their own words, and illustrate key scenes to encourage deeper understanding and creativity. Poetry is introduced to enhance language rhythm and enrich vocabulary, helping students develop a well-rounded and joyful command of language.
