A Clear Path Through the Year

The course begins with alphabetization, capitalization, complete sentences, punctuation, abbreviations, antonyms, and homophones. It then develops the parts of speech through nouns, pronouns, verbs, contractions, adjectives, and adverbs while steadily integrating composition.

Writing assignments progress from sentences, rhyming, sequencing, and creative prewriting to paragraphs, narratives, book reports, riddles, compositions, and letters. Review weeks and quarterly tests give families natural opportunities to identify concepts that need additional practice before moving forward.

Flexible Homeschool Support

Each week identifies the assigned lessons and the main skills being taught. Notes help parents prepare instruction, reinforce correct terminology, review difficult concepts, and connect the course plan with the more detailed guidance in the Teacher Manual.

Optional enrichment can be selected when a student needs additional practice or would benefit from a creative extension. Because the schedule is organized by week and day, teachers can adjust individual assignments while maintaining the course’s cumulative sequence.

Course Information

English 2 builds on Grade 1 foundations through a cumulative study of sentence types, capitalization, punctuation, alphabetization, vocabulary relationships, parts of speech, and composition. Students apply correct language usage across reading, writing, spelling, and phonics while learning precise grammatical terminology and working with increasing independence.
