In a monastery in Wales the monks work and pray. In the monastery garden a hive of bees work when the monks work and pray when the monks pray. But though they live so close together the monks are afraid of the bees, and so they keep their distance. Until one day, a novice named Modomnoc comes and is given the role of beekeeper. In this new role, a beautiful friendship blooms.

Children will love the story of Saint Modomnoc, a lesser-known Irish saint who is the patron saint of bees and beekeeping. The Saint and His Bees is a featured book in Kolbe Academy’s homeschool Kindergarten program as it complements lessons on Creation, nature, animals, and where certain food comes from.
