Reading is the foundation of an education, so the first steps of reading are important. Kolbe’s Kindergarten English program is a phonics-based program that incorporates writing, reading, and basic English concepts into a single program. For many years Mrs. Dianne Muth, our founder, taught students to read successfully using phonics, repetition, and the Catholic National Readers. This program includes all of those elements. Concepts covered in this 1st semester text include:
- How to properly hold a pencil
- Letter and sound recognition
- How to form each letter of the alphabet
- Tracing, mazes, and games to build fine motor skills
- Decoding skills
- Sight words and early spelling practice
Kolbe's New Kindergarten Program
Kolbe Academy’s Kindergarten Catholic homeschool program introduces young children to the wonders of the world around them! This comprehensive curriculum offers children and parents a gentle entry into the world of Catholic classical education. Each week’s lesson has a particular theme related to the life of Christ and/or the liturgical season, and each theme serves as a jumping-off point for lessons in art, history, science, and catechism. The Math & Logic and English & Phonics lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and age-appropriate in order to build a solid foundation for future learning.
