Kolbe Academy’s Kindergarten program offers a Catholic, classical curriculum that includes Art, Literature, Music, Science, History, Religion, Reading, and Math. Free play and family time is most important at this age, and so the Kindergarten course plan organizes each subject into daily lessons that include no more than 1 hour of formal schooling per day.

The Kindergarten course plan includes valuable resources, such as:

  • A Kindergarten Readiness Checklist
  • Weekly course plans with daily assignments broken down by subject. Daily assignments are organized in a calendar form to help homeschooling parents schedule their schooling in a way that is flexible and developmentally appropriate.
  • A Literature List featuring classic picture books that complement the weekly lessons, readers to help students on their road to literacy, and religious picture books to help students fall in love with their faith.
  • A list of simple prayers for students to memorize.
  • A Music List with recommended classical and seasonal songs.
  • Seasonal Play Menus that help cultivate virtue, knowledge, and wonder through suggested seasonal activities.
  • A First Grade Readiness Checklist
Stay organized and on-track while helping your kindergartner grow in knowledge and wonder! Kolbe’s Kindergarten course plan will give you peace of mind and prepare you for a year filled with growth, faith, and fun!

Kolbe's New Kindergarten Program

Kolbe Academy’s Kindergarten program introduces young children to the wonders of the world around them! This comprehensive homeschool curriculum offers children and parents a gentle entry into the world of Catholic classical education. Each week’s lesson has a particular theme related to the life of Christ and/or the liturgical season, and each theme serves as a jumping-off point for lessons in art, history, science, and catechism. The Math & Logic and English & Phonics lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and age-appropriate in order to build a solid foundation for future learning.

With an easy-to-follow course plan to guide parents through each week’s lessons, you can help your kindergarten student discover truth, goodness, and beauty through:

  • Catechism and Bible verses
  • Art appreciation, technique, and theory
  • English & Phonics
  • Math & Logic
  • Science
  • History
  • Mapwork
  • Simple poetry memorization
  • Literature and music
This open-and-go curriculum is designed with the young child in mind, and features gentle pacing, colorful images, opportunities for repetition and review, and simple yet informative lessons that connect each lesson to their daily life and the life of Jesus.
