Topics covered include Life, Earth, and Physical Science. The Life Science units cover plant and animal growth and adaptation, the skeletal, muscular, respiratory, circulatory, nervous and digestive skystems of the human body, and Earth's ecosystems. The Earth Science units cover earthquakes, volcanoes, fossils, weather conditions, oceans, and the solar system. The Physical Science units cover matter, heat and energy, sound, light, electricity and magnetism, forces, and simple machines. Kolbe Academy uses Harcourt Science 4 for 3rd and 4th grades. Students cover one unit of life, earth and physical science each year.
